Q Do I need a GP referral for physiotherapy treatment?
A No, however if you have insurance then we do recommend that you contact your private health insurance company as they may require a medical referral (by a GP or Consultant) to authorise reimbursement of treatment charges.
Q Is the cost of physiotherapy covered by medical insurance?
A Yes, As Chartered Physiotherapists and Members of the Health Professions Council we are recognised by all major and known Health Insurance Companies.
Q Is physiotherapy appropriate for back and neck problems or is it only useful for muscle injuries?
A Chartered Physiotherapists are qualified to treat all spinal problems and in fact over 45% of our normal caseload is spinal work.
Q Can physiotherapists manipulate?
A Yes, Chartered Physiotherapists with the appropriate post-graduate training are qualified to manipulate.
Q How quickly will I be seen for my first treatment?
A We will always endeavor to offer you an appointment within 24 hours.
Q How long does each treatment last?
A Initial appointments last 45 minutes and all subsequent appointments are 30 minutes in duration.
Q Should I bring anything with me?
A If covered by insurance you should bring your details with you on your first appointment.
Q How many treatments will I need?
A There is no pre-determined number of treatments. The physiotherapists will discuss your treatment program with you. Our average number of treatments per patient over the last 600 patients was 3.7. (outcome analysis Feb 07).
